The transition from employment to retirement holds particular significance within the pedagogical field. Like other transitional phases, this stage may take on the characteristics of a biographical rupture, often marked by uncertainty and a lack of clarity. Consequently, there emerges a need for educational and pedagogical support aimed at fostering active ageing and, more importantly, longevity, by enhancing each individual’s personal resources in order to counteract the disabling effects of ageing. The research project presented below focuses on lifestyles and life skills, including those developed in professional contexts, which facilitate the transition out of the workforce. The study aims to reconstruct the biographical trajectories of professionals working within the field of education who are approaching or have recently entered retirement. Particular attention is given to the role of the professional environment in cultivating healthy lifestyles and transferable skills that support individuals in navigating this new phase of life.
