Nel 1703, durante un soggiorno a Lione, mise in scena La Vangeance de Colombine, ou Arlequin Beau-Frère du Grand Turc dell’avvocato Nicolas Barbier, un’opera che portava sulla scena le vicissitudini dell’Opéra di Lione e conteneva elementi che sembrano anticipare alcuni degli spettacoli delle fiere parigine di Saint-Germain e Saint-Laurent. Following the suppression of the Comédie-Italienne in 1697, Giuseppe Tortoriti’s troupe disseminated the tradition inherited from the Italians in the most important cities of the French provinces. In 1703, during a stay in Lyon, the troupe performed La Vangeance de Colombine, ou Arlequin Beau-Frère du Grand Turc by the lawyer Nicolas Barbier, a play that brought the vicissitudes of the Lyon Opéra to the stage and contained elements that seem to foreshadow certain performances at the Parisian fairs of Saint-Germain and Saint-Laurent.
