At national level, soil sealing impacts significantly on and landscape and agricultural land. This issue needs to be analyzed in order to provide strategic information to the policy maker for a rational land planning and environmental management. In this context, the purpose of this study is to widen the knowledge framework about agricultural land consumption in Italy, analyzing its dynamics, causes and impacts. The analysis considers three specific aspects: the design of a territorial accounting model for the study of land consumption, the quali-quantitative evaluation and the ranking of growth typologies of sealing areas and the analysis of impacts and driving forces. The results have helped to identify soil sealing on geographical basis and, at the same time, to understand how artificialization morphotypologies are linked to the changes and what are the impacts such changes have in relation to territorial multifunctionality and hydrogeological risk.

Abstract
At national level, soil sealing impacts significantly on and landscape and agricultural land. This issue needs to be analyzed in order to provide strategic information to the policy maker for a rational land planning and environmental management. In this context, the purpose of this study is to widen the knowledge framework about agricultural land consumption in Italy, analyzing its dynamics, causes and impacts. The analysis considers three specific aspects: the design of a territorial accounting model for the study of land consumption, the quali-quantitative evaluation and the ranking of growth typologies of sealing areas and the analysis of impacts and driving forces. The results have helped to identify soil sealing on geographical basis and, at the same time, to understand how artificialization morphotypologies are linked to the changes and what are the impacts such changes have in relation to territorial multifunctionality and hydrogeological risk.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
