The Presspad - Extractive methods and products for Green Agriculture - Project funded by Tuscany's Rural Development Program 2014-2020, involved a Tuscan olive oil company and three research institutions. Its goals were to produce aqueous extracts and essential oils from urban and agricultural pruning waste of Mediterranean plants, rich in antioxidants, antimicrobial, and repellent properties, and to develop natural products for preventing and treating olive tree diseases. Innovative products were tested on olive trees to assess their protective effects. The project promoted circular use of waste and by-products from olive oil production and green maintenance, fostering sustainable agriculture solutions.
